Mozilla SunBird Calendar
SunBird Add-On: Provider for Google Calendar
BlackBerry Application: Google Sync
A Google Account
- Google Gmail Account
- Google Calendar Account
- Install the SunBird "Provider for Google Calendar" Add-On
- Restart SunBird
- Go to google.com & sign in to your Google account
- Go to your Google Calendar
- Create as many calendars in Google Calendar as you want to pair with calendars you will create in SunBird (the calendars created in SunBird will write directly to the Google Calendar file using XML).
- Within Google Calendar, choose "SETTINGS" located in the top right of the window
- Choose the "CALENDARS" tab and pick one of the calendars you've created.
- Scroll down and find your "PRIVATE ADDRESS", then click the red box that says "XML"
- There should be a pop-up that has a link on it, copy the link.
- Go back to SunBird, go to FILE > NEW > CALENDAR
- Select "ON THE NETWORK", press next
- Change the format to "GOOGLE CALENDAR" & past the link into the "LOCATION" box, press next
- Give your calendar a name, and color, press next, then finish. From now on whenever you enter a calendar entry in SunBird, it writes it to your Google Calendar file.
- Now point your BB Browser to http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/index.html
- Suggest downloading all of the google mobile apps, but, for this exercise the one you will need is Google Sync (this is just one of the many you can download).
- After installing Google Sync, start the app on your BB and enter your google username and password associated with your calendar. Change the options to your liking such as how far into the future you want events sync'd.
- For now on, when you enter a date on your BB, it will sync to Google Calendar, which in turn will show up in SunBird (and vice versa).
